Abstract of the Disclosure A rod guide and well tubing protector adapted to be interposed between a pair of adjacent sucker rod joints in a sucker rod string and which comprises an elongated body having threaded boxes provided at the opposite ends thereof for threaded connection with the sucker rod joints, a plurality of longitudinally spaced slots provided in the body for receiving wheels therein, the slots being angularly orientated whereby the plane of each of the wheels is angular with respect to the other wheels in order that at least one of the wheels will be in engagement with the inner periphery of the well tubing at any problem area between the well tubing and sucker rod string, the wheels being constructed from a polyethylene material which is of a specific gravity less than the well fluid in order that any particles from the wheels will rise to the surface of the well fluid to preclude contamination of the working elements of the downhole pump by the particles, and the wheels being provided with integral thrust bearings for improving the useful life of the rod guide and tubing protector by re- ducing wear on the relatively movable parts thereof.
