ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A rodenticidal composition comprises a cereal base carrier defining a bait, the surfaces of the pieces of said carrier being coated with a film comprising a film-forming substance and a substance which is not in direct contact with the bait and which reduces the level of prothrombin in the blood of a rodent. The compositions are particularly suitable for destroying rats and mice. Preparatin of the composition is also described.
