ABSTRACT This invention relates to single or double roll scrap crushers and particularly those crushers used to crush scrap batteries. Scrap crushers presently known in the art have certain problems with regard to the cleaning or replacement of teeth in the grating, in that the grating is not readily accessible for maintenance. In the present invention, the grating is located below the roll(s) and is constructed in a manner so as to be pivotable to hang in a downwards position. In this position, the working side of the grating is easily accessible. Another aspect of the invention is the design of the grating itself which allows the teeth thereon to be easily removed for cleaning and replacement.
