A medical bandaging product in roll form for being dispensed in predetermined lengths and including an elongate sleeve (18) formed of moisture-impervious material and sealable to prevent entry of moisture, and an elongate medical bandage material (16) positioned in the sleeve and sealed therein against entry of moisture until use. The medical bandage material includes a substrate (12) formed from a foam layer (14) and a textile reinforcement layer (14) attached to the foam layer. A reactive system is impregnated into or coated onto the substrate and remains stable when maintained in substantially moisture-free conditions. The substrate hardens upon exposure to moisture to form a rigid splint.
L'invention concerne un produit de bandage médical sous forme de rouleau destiné être distribué en longueurs prédéterminées et comprenant une enveloppe de protection allongée (18) constituée d'un matériau imperméable à l'humidité et pouvant être fermée hermétiquement pour empêcher l'entrée d'humidité, ainsi qu'un matériau de bandage médical allongé (16) placé dans l'enveloppe de protection et fermé hermétiquement dans cette enveloppe pour être protégé de l'humidité jusqu'à son utilisation. Le matériau de bandage médical comprend un substrat (12) formé d'une couche de mousse (13) et d'une couche de renforcement textile (14) fixée à la couche de mousse. Un système réactif est imprégné dans le substrat ou appliqué sur le substrat et reste stable lorsqu'il est maintenu dans des conditions sensiblement dépourvues d'humidité. Le substrat durcit lors de l'exposition à l'humidité pour former une attelle rigide.
