Roll of paperband (10, 31, 38) usable in paper web cutting and turn-up systems or in baling includes an elongate multi-ply board (11) having a center portion (14, 45) and side portions (13, 32, 33, 39, 40), each having an inside and outside edge portion and the inside edge portion being defined by a longitudinal first groove (15, 34, 35, 44). Each side portion (13, 32, 33, 39, 40) is folded to dispose same in contact with center portion (14, 45). The paperband (10, 31 , 38) includes upper and lower transverse undulations (21) to enable the board to be formed into a roll of paperband (10, 31, 38) without materially affecting its tensile strength. The side edge portions (13, 32, 33, 39, 40) may be located closely adjacent each other without any overlap therebetween so that a longitudinal line of weakness (16, 36, 48, 49) is formed therebetween or may overlap and render weakened edge portions (41 , 42). An adhesive (20,46,47) coats the outer surface thereof when the paperband (10, 31, 38) is used for baling.
L~invention concerne un rouleau de ruban de papier (10, 31, 38) susceptible d~être utilisé dans des systèmes de découpe et de relèvement d~une bande de papier, ou pour la mise en balles, comportant un carton multicouche allongé (11) comprenant une partie centrale (14, 45) et des parties latérales (13, 32, 33, 39, 40), présentant chacune une partie de bord intérieure et extérieure, la partie de bord intérieure étant définie par une première rainure longitudinale (15, 34, 35, 44). Chaque partie latérale (13, 32, 33, 39, 40) est repliée de façon à l~amener au contact de la partie centrale (14, 45). Le ruban de papier (10, 31, 38) comporte des ondulations transversales supérieures et inférieures (21) permettant de donner au carton la forme d~un rouleau de ruban de papier (10, 31, 38) sans affecter sa résistance à la rupture par traction. Les parties latérales (13, 32, 33, 39, 40) peuvent être très rapprochées les unes des autres sans se chevaucher de façon à former entre elles une ligne d~affaiblissement (16, 36, 48, 49) ou peuvent se chevaucher et former des parties de bord affaiblies (41, 42). La surface extérieure du ruban de papier (10, 31, 39) est enduite d~un adhésif (20,46,47) lorsque celle-ci est utilisée pour la mise en balles.
