ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Apparatus for rolling and compressing a flexible, com- pressible strip includes a belt, a portion of which defines a loop. Means are provided for feeding an end of the strip into the loop. The apparatus includes means for placing the belt under tension, means for moving the belt, means for discharging the rolled strip from the loop after the strip is rolled up, and means for applying a length of elongate, flexible material to the other end of the strip prior to the outer end entering the belt loop, with the elongate, flexible material extending sub- stantially beyond the other end.
