Spirally wound paper products are disclosed having desirable roll firmness characteristics and softness properties. The rolled products can be made from a single ply tissue web formed according to various processes. Once formed, the tissue web is subjected to a shear-calendering device that increases the fuzz-on-edge properties of the web and preserves the bulk of the web when wound.

L'invention concerne des produits en papier de soie enroulés en spirale, présentant les caractéristiques voulues de douceur et de solidité une fois enroulés. Ces produits enroulés peuvent être constitués d'une bande de papier de soie à une seule couche, formée selon différents procédés. Une fois formée, la bande de papier de soie est soumise à l'action d'un dispositif de calandrage par cisaillement qui améliore la résistance au peluchage de la bande et maintient le gonflant de la bande une fois enroulée.
