ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A roller for the pressure treatment of a web core. The roller consists of an inner core and an outer hollow roller which surrounds and is spaced from the core. Pressurised liquid is situated in the area between the core and the roller on the side of the working nip. In the area between the core and the roller on the side away from the working nip there is a longitudinally extending strip attached to the core and con- tacting the inner surface of the roller which is adapted to deflect pressurised liquid entrained by the inner surface of the roller into drainage channels in the core.
