The invention relates to a roller from a refractory material, for example in vitreous silica, for transporting a flat article provided at its end with a new arrangement for rotationally driving it as well as to an assembly of such a roller and its driving device. This roller comprises an external surface and two side surfaces, at least one side surface having indentations for receiving rotationally driving pins, it is characterized in that the openings of said indentations which extends in the radial direction of the roller are spaced apart from the external surface of the roller and in that the indentations have a cross-section which is larger in the radial direction of the roller than in the tangential direction. The invention permits to avoid the breakage of the roller around the driving indentations.
La présente invention concerne un rouleau fabriqué à partir d'un matériau réfractaire, tel que la silice vitreuse, pour transporter un article plat et doté, au niveau de son extrémité, d'un nouveau dispositif permettant l'entraînement rotatif dudit rouleau, et concerne également un ensemble composé de ce rouleau et de son dispositif d'entraînement. Ce rouleau comprend une surface externe et deux surfaces latérales, au moins une surface latérale comprenant des crans servant à recevoir des pointes d'entraînement rotatif. Cette invention se caractérise en ce que les ouvertures de ces crans qui s'étendent dans la direction radiale du rouleau sont espacées de la surface externe du rouleau et en ce que ces crans présentent une section transversale plus large dans la direction radiale du rouleau que dans la direction tangentielle. Cette invention permet d'éviter au rouleau de casser autour des crans d'entraînement.
