Abstract In a roller device, preferably having crimper rollers for agricultural machinery, where one of the rollers is movable with respect to the other and where the rotation of the rollers is synchronized by means of a gear wheel mechanism, this mechanism in a preferred embodiment is provided with two pairs of coarse gear wheels, the gear wheels in each pair being coaxial and firmly interconnected as well as angularly displaced 180° divided by the number of teeth, corresponding to one half tooth pitch, relative to each other. Such a mechanism ensures the maintaining of correct engagement of the rollers, also if they are pressed apart by passing material agglomerations.
