The assembly has an outer grooved rotatable sheave for receiving a line, a central hub, and a plurality of roller bearings between the sheave and hub. The center of the hub has a circular groove for receiving a bearing retainer. The bearing retainer has outer grooves which interfit with central grooves in each of the roller bearings. The retainer serves to maintain the roller bearings in a spaced relation to reduce friction and prevent axial displacement of the rollers from the assembly.
