ABSTRACT A roller blind bar including a tubular rod, a respective support at each end thereof for attaching the roller blind bar to a wall, ceiling or similar, a helical spring positioned within said rod and attached at one end to a non-rotating piece engaged with the adjacent support and at the opposite end to a rotating piece which rotates with the rod, and a locking mechanism for preventing the rod from rotating with respect to the supports the non-rotating piece and the rotating piece being fitted inside the tubular rod from opposite ends thereof and the rod being further provided with stop means for limiting inward movement of said pieces towards each others, said spring hold- ing the non-rotating and rotating pieces in position against the stop means.
