Abstract The sweeping machine is fitted with a roller brush, whereby the lateralroller mountings of the sweeping machine cover the roller body and its axially extended retaining profiles for the brush units. In order to effect and thereby simplify the replacement of brush units without removal of the entire roller brush, the sweeping machine is constructed such that the retaining profiles (1) feature an open construction radially toward the exterior, at the most according to the length of a brush unit (3) in at least one lateral zone of the roller body (2). The brush units (3) in this location are arranged such that they are secured radially by at least one retaining element (4) that surrounds all of the brush units (3).
