ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In an elongated heatable roller for a machine for manufacturing tape-like material, such as a paper machine, and comprising an outer sleeve and a displacement cylindrical member disposed in the outer sleeve so that a clearance for passing a heat-conducting fluid is formed between the outer sleeve and the displacement member. Imbalance-compensating masses are provided for compensating for imbalance occurring on the roller and causing deflections of the roller. The imbalance-compensating masses are attached to the inner surface of the displacement member and preferably midway between the ends thereof.
