(57) Abstract A roller press comprising two rollers (1, 2) which rotate in opposite rotational directions, the rollers being driven via two gear units (5, 6) mounted on the roller shafts (3, 4), and having means for counterbalancing the oppositely-directed torques aris- ing in the gear units in the form of a torque reaction system (7-12), eliminating the need for a torque absorption mechanism att- ached to the machine frame of the roller press.
