A B S T R A C T A roller support assembly for a machine carriage includes an elongated rigid bar and a longitudinally spaced series of axles supported in axially parallel relation by the bar. Each axle carrier a roller and has one of its ends re- ceived in an associated bore in the bar. At least two of the axles are fastened to the bar. The remaining axles are slid- ably received in the associated bores in the bar. An elongated rod extends through holes in the other ends of the axles so that the fastened axles and the rod cooperate to retain the remaining axles in assembly with the bar.
