( 29 ) Abstract of the Disclosure A rolling-contact bearing type clutch which comprises an inner ring having an inner raceway surface of mono-hyperboloid of revolution; an outer ring having an outer raceway surface of mono-hyperboloid of revolution; rollers disposed in between the inner and outer rings with their center axes slanted, and with the surface of each roller being in line contact with the inner and outer raceway surfaces; and energizing means energizing either the inner ring or the outer ring in the axis line direction to narrow the gap of the raceways; and annular members provided on the inner and outer rings so as to bring possible axial movements of the rollers to a stop.
