ROLLING CULTIVATOR SHIELD ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A large diameter, short toothed rolling shield fabricated by vacuum forming talc filled polyethylene sheet having a smooth surface and sufficient flexibility to resist soil build-up in damp conditions. Preferably the diameter of the shield is substantially greater than twenty inches and on the order of twenty four inches and includes teeth uniformly spaced around the periphery, each tooth having a length less than approximately ten percent of the shield radius. A circular rib near the center of the shield and radial reinforcing ribs extending from the circular rib on the convex side of the shield to the base of alternating teeth provide stiffness and strength. The concave tool side of the shield is devoid of protrusions to reduce churning of thrown soil.
Écran protecteur roulant, de large diamètre, à dents courtes fabriqué à partir d'une feuille de polyéthylène chargée de talc et moulée sous vide. La feuille comporte une surface lisse et est suffisamment souple pour résister aux accumulations de terre par temps humide. De préférence, le diamètre de l'écran est de beaucoup supérieur à vingt pouces, soit environ vingt-quatre pouces, et est muni de dents espacées uniformément sur sa circonférence, chaque dent représentant moins d'environ dix pour cent du rayon de l'écran. Une nervure circulaire située près du centre de l'écran ainsi que des nervures radiales de renforcement partant de la nervure circulaire du côté convexe de l'écran et allant jusqu'à la base de dents en alternance assurent la rigidité et la solidité de l'écran. Le côté de coupe concave de l'écran ne présente aucune protrusion de manière à éviter que la terre enlevée ne se répande.
