TITLE OF THE INVENTION ROLLING CUTTER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A rolling cutter that rotates upon a bearing shaft is supported by antifriction bearings and ball bearings interposed between the shaft and the cutter. On the outer end of the shaft, a reduced diameter boss extends, forming a shoulder on the shaft. A hard metal ring that is fastened to an internal recess of the cutter has a radially inwardly facing thrust area and an axially facing thrust area. When the cutter is placed on the shaft, the radial and axial bearing areas mate with the boss and the shoulder on the shaft and a cavity is formed between the end of the boss and the bottom of the internal recess.
