An improved Roman blind assembly is disclosed. The Roman blind assembly consists of a fabric screen mounted to a first and second pair of suspension cords, The first pair of suspension cords each consist of a flexible cord having a plurality of primary connector elements mounted thereon. The second pair of suspension cords each consist of a flexible cord. A plurality of connector rings are threaded onto each of the secondary suspension cords. The assembly further includes a plurality of secondary connector elements, each secondary connector element having an anchor portion and a connector portion. The connector portion of each secondary connector element is configured to mount to one of the primary connector elements and to one of the connector rings. The assembly further includes a plurality of connector brackets mounted to the screen, each of said connector brackets having a first portion configured to mount to the screen and a second portion dimensioned and configured to mount to the anchor portion of the secondary connector elements.
