ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to a safety line anchor which provides a means for attaching safety lines to a building structure. The anchor comprises a first body, which may be either solid or tubular, extending in a first direction, usually vertically from a roof. There is a first opening passing through the first body in a direction that is substantially transverse to the first direction through which the safety line may pass. The first body is attached to the building structure. Preferably, there is a tubular body extending through the first opening. Preferably, the anchor is installed with an orientation such that the first opening is substantially transverse to the direction in which the safety line would normally fall.
