A roof jack adapter which allows standard roof jacks to be used in conjunction with the adapter for use on ribbed steel roofing. The roof jack adapter is comprised of a rectangular piece of steel flat bar strategically drilled to allow non abrasive elevators to be attached to the steel flat bar. The steel flat bar will also be drilled to allow the standard roof jack to be fastened to the adapter as well as the roof. The piece of steel flat bar will also have a support mechanism designed to allow the standard roof jack to be held securely on the roof jack adapter while the entire apparatus is being installed on the roof. The roof jack adapter with the non abrasive elevators will allow a standard roof jack to be fastened to a ribbed steel roof in a position above the rib portion of the steel roofing, thus not damaging the finish on the steel roofing.
