ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A roof panel for low pitch roofs consisting of an elongated ribbon-like sheet with complementary interlocking portions along opposite sides for engagement with adjoining panels one side of the panel having a marginal nailing strip, a spaced parallel pair of ridges inside the said strip, and inwardly of the pair of ridges one of the interlocking joint portions. A raised corrugation extends along the other side of the panel with the second of the interlocking joint portions connected with its outer wall. When installed the interlocking joint pro- vides a water barrier, a run-off trough is provided between the joint and the inner wall of the first or inner ridge and an additional, large capacity run-off trough is provided between the pair of ridges. Further, to assure a leak proof roof one or more sealants is employed e.g. (a) a butyl strip is applied to one of the ridges at the point of manufacture for compressive engagement by and adhesion to the inside of the corrugation of an adjoining panel when installed and (b) a bead of silicone sealant is applied over the interlocking joint after adjoining panels have been installed.
