Roofing material consists essentially of a substrate, a hot melt material applied to one side of the substrate, an asphalt material coating the other side of the substrate and roofing granules disposed on said asphalt material coated on the substrate. The hot melt material may be polyethylene, polyethylene-vinyl acetate, polypropylene, polyvinyl idene chloride, polyester, nylon and mixtures thereof. The asphalt material may include non-asphaltic filler.

La présente invention concerne un matériau de couverture pour toiture composé essentiellement d'un substrat, d'un matériau thermofusible appliqué sur un côté du substrat, d'un matériau asphaltique couvrant l'autre côté du substrat et de granules de couverture disposés sur ledit matériau asphaltique couvrant le substrat. Le matériau thermofusible peut être du polyéthylène, de l'acétate de polyéthylène-vinyle, du polypropylène, du polychlorure de vinylidène, du polyester, du nylon et des mélanges de ceux-ci. Le matériau asphaltique peut comprendre une charge non asphaltique.
