This invention relates to a roofing or siding membrane comprising a non-woven mat coated with an asphaltic composition containing, in addition to 35-75 wt. % bitumen, a mixture of isotactic and amorphous propylene polymers and between about 0.08 and about 15 wt. % of a functionalized, olefin polymer to provide a non-staining membrane of high tensile strength, low polyolefin content with respect to asphalt, improved compatibility between asphalt and non- functionalized polymers and reduced light end asphalt and polymer exudates. The invention also relates to a method for preparing the membrane.
L'invention concerne une membrane de couverture de toit ou de parement comprenant un mat de non tissé recouvert d'une composition à base d'asphalte contenant, ajouté à 35 - 75 % en poids de bitume, un mélange de polymères de propylène amorphe et isotactique et entre 0,08 % environ et 15 % environ en poids d'un polymère d'oléfine fonctionnalisée afin d'obtenir une membrane non tachante de résistance élevée, à faible teneur en polyoléfine par rapport à la teneur en asphalte, une compatibilité améliorée entre l'asphalte et des polymères sans fonctionnalité et une réduction des exsudats de fractions légères d'asphalte et de polymère. L'invention concerne aussi un procédé de préparation de cette membrane.
