-16- ABSTRACT A roofridge-ventilation system on roofs, having a roofridge-venti- lation cap 1 disposed below the ridgetiles 4, comprises a gap 7 facing the longitudinal edges, in which gap fittings are made which form the entering air to vortices or deflect it. The roofridge-ven- tilation cap 1 can comprise devices for completely closing the gap 7 in such a way that the gap 7 only exists on the leeward side. By such means, on the leeward side of tilted roofs, a stable vacuum region can be established. By means of the thus created suction, stale air can be guided leewardly out of the inner space of the roof and out of the airing gaps into the outer region (fig. 1).
