An improved rope is formed from high tenacity fibers, preferably a blend of high tenacity polyethylene fibers with aramid fibers and/or liquid crystal copolyester fibers. The fibers and/or the rope are coated with a composition comprising an amino functional silicone resin and a neutralized low molecular weight polyethylene. The ropes are useful in marine applications, such as in deep sea lifting, and have improved cyclic bend over sheave fatigue resistance.

L'invention concerne une corde améliorée formée à partir de fibres de haute ténacité, de préférence un mélange de fibres de polyéthylène de haute ténacité avec des fibres aramide et/ou des fibres de copolyester cristal liquide. Les fibres et/ou la corde sont enduites d'une composition comprenant une résine de silicone à fonction amino et un polyéthylène neutralisé de faible masse moléculaire. Les cordes sont utiles en applications marines, telles que pour le levage en pleine mer, et présentent une résistance améliorée à la fatigue due à la courbure cyclique sur poulie.
