A fluid-powered rotary actuator (10) having a body (12) adapted for coupling to a movable member to transfer rotational force thereto. A drive member includes a flange (22) extending axially outward from a first end (16). The flange includes first (26), second (28), and intermediate portions (34). The second portion has a ball race (32), the first portion is threaded and the intermediate portion has straight splines (36) formed thereon. A mounting member (38) is adapted for coupling to a support frame (40). The mounting member has an aperture (48) with straight splines (50) which mesh with the longitudinal portion straight splines (36) to permit adjusting longitudinal movement of the mounting member (38) relative to the flange (22) while holding the flange stationary against rotation relative to the support frame. An annular bearing carrier (54) has a pair of ball races (78, 82) with which the flange and the mounting member ball races form two sets of ball races to rotatably support the drive member.
