A rotary barrel gate valve (100) includes a body (102) and at least one passage (104) through the body (102) defining an inlet (106) and an outlet (108). There is a first actuator (110) for rotating the body (102), a second actuator (112) for translating the body (102), and a sealing portion (116) on the body (102) which seals the body (102) with respect to an opening (140) into a chamber (12) adjacent the body (102).
