A twin cylinder rotary compressor comprises first and second cylinders and a crankshaft having first and second eccentrics mounted thereon. The first eccentric is disposed within the first cylinder and the second eccentric is disposed within the second cylinder. A separator plate is disposed between the first and second cylinders and has a first piece, a complementary second piece and at least one securement member. Each of the first and second pieces includes an interior surface with the interior surface defining a semi-circular recess and having at least one securement hole. The at least one securement member has a first end receivable within the at least one securement hole of the first piece and a second end receivable within the at least one securement hole of the second piece whereby the first and second pieces are alignable with one another. The interior surface and the semi-circular recess of the second piece are complementary to the interior surface and the semicircular recess of the first piece, respectively, such that the semi-circular recesses combine to form a circular bore. The circular bore closely captures a portion of the crankshaft located between the first and second eccentrics.
