FLEXIBLE ROTARY TRANSMISSION COUPLING ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE To couple a driving shaft of a machine to a driven shaft, a coupling assembly is mounted to said driving and driven shafts and includes a flexible coupling element. The flexible coupling element includes a plurality of first bushings adapted to be connected to the driving shaft by a corresponding plurality of first bolts and a plurality of second bushings adapted to be connected to the driven shaft by a corresponding plurality of second bolts. A plurality of fibers connects different ones of said first bushings to different ones of said second bushings so that said first bushings applies force to said second bushings to transmit torque. The filaments or fibers are looped around said bushings and the coupling element has a thickness in the range of 1 percent to 10 percent of its diameter.
