The invention concerns a rotary distribution apparatus (30) for distributing process liquids, typically in ion exchange and chromato- graphic separation in the processing of sugar juice. The apparatus includes a core (2) into which fixed process liquid supply pipes (3) extend and an-nular fluid distribution chambers defined between the core and an outer shell (4) which rotates around the core. Rotating pipes (5) are provided which rotate with the shell and which are connected between selected dis-tribution chambers and selected ports in a rotating indexing disc (6) which rotates, with the shell, relative to a stationary indexing disc (7). The ar-rangement is such that as the rotating disc rotates, different streams of pro-cess liquid streams fed to the rotating disc through the rotating pipes are introduced to fixed ports in the stationary disc. The latter ports are ar-ranged to feed the streams selectively to selected destinations. According to the invention interstage pumps operating to pump the process liquids are mounted to rotate about the core with the rotating pipes and the rotat-ing indexing disc. This leads to a particularly simple design compared to conventional simulated moving bed configurations with fixed pumps.
L'invention porte sur un appareil de distribution rotatif (30) pour la distribution de liquide de traitement, typiquement en échange d'ions et en séparation chromatographique dans le traitement de vesou. L'appareil comprend un cur (2) dans lequel s'étendent des tuyaux (3) fixes d'introduction de liquide de traitement et des chambres de distribution de fluide annulaires délimitées entre le cur et une enveloppe externe (4) qui tourne autour du cur. Des tuyaux rotatifs (5) sont fournis, qui tournent avec l'enveloppe et sont raccordés entre les chambres de distribution sélectionnées et les orifices sélectionnés dans un disque d'indexage rotatif (6) qui tourne, avec l'enveloppe, par rapport à un disque d'indexage stationnaire (7). L'arrangement est tel que lorsque le disque rotatif tourne, différents courants de liquide de traitement adressés au disque rotatif par les tuyaux rotatifs sont introduits dans des orifices fixes du disque stationnaire. Ces derniers sont disposés pour introduire les courants sélectivement vers les destinations sélectionnées. Selon l'invention, des pompes interétages fonctionnant pour pomper les liquides de traitement sont montées pour tourner autour du cur avec les tuyaux rotatifs et avec le disque d'indexage rotatif, ce qui constitue une conception particulièrement simple par rapport aux configurations à lit mobile simulé à pompes fixes classiques.
