ROTARY DRILL Abstract of the Disclosure A drill comprising a shank is provided with two axially extending chip removal recesses and at least two cutting inserts, said inserts being provided radially and comprising one peripherally located insert adjacent one said chip removal recess, the edge of said insert extending radially such as to form the diameter of the hole, and one insert located adjacent the other said chip removal recess while being located radially inside the periphery of the drill, said inserts extending axially to basically the same extent. The innermost insert has such radial location and is angled away from the peripheral insert at an angle of such value that, as seen radially, force balance of the drill shank is achieved.
