ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A powered rotary edge trimmer, e.g. for herbage such as lawns, has a larger, toothed rotatable cutting blade and a smaller, toothed rotatable cutting blade which lies flatly against the first blade. The smaller blade is positioned so that some of its teeth overlap with some of the teeth of the larger blade. A drive transmission is provided which causes clock-wise rotation of the smaller blade as a result of counter clock-wise rotation of the larger blade to effect a continuous shearing action between overlapping teeth of the two blades.
