A rotary electric motor is formed within a cylindrical rotor housing structure that surrounds an annular stator ring. The permanent magnet rotor is configured in an annular ring coaxial with, and outside of, the stator. The stator ring contains a plurality of wound core segments that are ferromagnetically isolated from each other. The core segments are secured to a rigid skeletal structure that is centrally fixed to a stationary shaft. The stator support structure is formed of spine members that extend radially away from the center. U-shaped plates at the outer ends of the spine members engage adjacent pair of stator segments. Within the inner periphery of the stator ring, space is provided within which motor control circuitry and battery power supply may be incorporated.
Un moteur électrique rotatif est formé à l'intérieur d'une structure de boîtier de rotor cylindrique qui entoure un anneau de stator. Le rotor à aimants permanents forme un anneau coaxial avec le stator et disposé à l'extérieur de celui-ci. L'anneau du stator comprend plusieurs segments de noyau enroulés, isolés ferromagnétiquement entre eux. Les segments de noyau sont fixés à une structure de squelette rigide qui est fixée au centre de l'arbre stationnaire. La structure de support du stator est formée d'éléments d'arête dorsale qui s'étendent radialement vers l'extérieur depuis le centre. Des plaques en U aux extrémités des éléments d'arête dorsale mettent en prise la paire adjacente de segments de stators. A l'intérieur de la périphérie interne de l'anneau du stator, on a prévu un espace pour placer les circuits de commande du moteur et l'alimentation de la batterie.
