ROTARY FILLING AND CAPPING APPARATUS ABSTRACT An apparatus (10) is disclosed for filling and capping a quantity of stackable containers (12) with a fluid from a fluid reservoir. The apparatus comprises a rotary table (14) having a plurality of apertures (22) disposed therein for receiving the containers (12). Containers from a container magazine (36) are transferred individually and placed within the apertures (22) in the rotary table (14). A filling head (50) is disposed at a second position (32) for filling the container (12) with the fluid pumped from the fluid reservoir. The filling head (50) comprises a unique pinch bar (64) and flexible tubing combination (60) to insure rapid termination of fluid flow from the filling head (50). A lid magazine (70) is disposed at a third position with a rotatable arm (76) placing a lid (12A) from the lid maga- zine (70) upon the filled container (12). A heat sealer (94) located at a fourth position heat seals the lid (12A) to the container (12). A discharge station (148) is located at a fifth position (35) for discharging the capped con- tainers (12) from the rotary table (14).
