The invention concerns a rotary injector for injecting gas (2) in a liquid metal (3), said injector comprising a drive shaft, stirring means, gas circulating means, gas (2) emitting means (8, 9). Said injector is characterised in that the emitting means (8, 9) are made, entirely or partly, of at least a material wettable by the liquid metal (3), said material being preferably also substantially inert to said liquid metal. The invention enables to increase significantly degassing efficiency when treating a liquid metal, as a result of a higher dispersion of the treatment gas. The liquid metal is generally aluminium, magnesium and aluminium and magnesium alloys. As for the wettable material, it is selected among certain refractory elements (Mo, W, V, Ti, Cr, Fe or their alloys) or among ceramic materials (TiB2, BN, TiC, Al¿4?C¿3?. AlN).
