Abstract of the Disclosure: A rotary gas injector comprises a graphite impeller attached to the end of a hollow cylindrical graphite shaft having a central bore. The impeller is cylindrical in shape and has a plurality of cuts equally spaced around the circumference thereof to define blades for the impeller, and radial holes are drilled in the centre of the cuts and communicate with the central bore of the shaft, whereby gas injected through the bore in the shaft and the radial holes of the impeller are sheared by the blades to form fine bubbles to enhance mass transfer and chemical reaction in gas-liquid and gas-liquid-solid systems.
