ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An endless grinding belt for a belt grinder, preferably for grinding wood profiles, comprises a layer of elastic material arranged on the working side of a rotary abrasive carrier element, the thickness of which is a multiple of the thickness of the carrier element. The surface of the layer facing away from the carrier element can be coated with abrasive. The layer is divided into sections, each consisting of a rubber block having a profile corresponding to the profile to be ground.
