A description is given of a method for burning raw materials such as cement raw meal, limestone or other mineral-containing raw materials by which method the raw material and a secondary fuel are separately introduced to one and the same rotary kiln in which the raw material as well as the secondary fuel are heated by gases formed by burning of a primary fuel in the rotary kiln so that the secondary fuel is converted to gases and solid matter in the form of combustion residues such as ashes and coke. The method is particular in that the secondary fuel during the process of conversion to gases and solid matter is kept separate from the introduced raw material. This will ensure that the secondary fuel and hence the locally reducing zones and major areas with reducing conditions are brought into minimum contact with the raw material.

La présente invention concerne un procédé consistant à brûler des matériaux bruts tels qu'un minéral broyé non traité de ciment, du calcaire ou dautres matériaux bruts contenant des minéraux, procédé grâce auquel le matériau brut et un carburant secondaire sont introduits séparément dans un seul et le même four rotatif dans lequel le matériau brut ainsi que le carburant secondaire sont chauffés par des gaz formés en brûlant un carburant primaire dans le four rotatif de sorte que le carburant secondaire est converti en gaz et en matières solides sous la forme de résidus de combustion tels que des cendres et du charbon. Le procédé est caractérisé en ce que le carburant secondaire est gardé à part du matériau brut introduit pendant le procédé de conversion en gaz et en matières solides. Ceci garantira que le carburant secondaire et ainsi les zones et les surfaces majeures de réduction locales dotées de conditions de réduction sont en contact minimal avec le produit brut.
