The invention discloses a rotary positive displacement machine in which the closed system is constituted by a male part (5) and a surrounding female part (4), having relative planetary movement with respect to each other. It is characterized by the definition of the external surface of the male part (50) and by the specific properties which it gives to the closed system, particularly when this is of a helical type, and also by the nature of the internal contacts (40, 50) between male (5) and female (4) parts. Said machine can handle any type of fluid and operate as motor or generator. Applications are found particularly in the field of drilling motors, pumps and screw or cylinder compressors where such machines have the advantage of allowing a wide variety of shapes, few moving parts, large swept volume for a given size and, for helical machines, absolutely conjugate sliding contact surfaces.

L'objet de l'invention est une machine volumétrique rotative dans laquelle le capsulisme est formé d'une pièce mâle (5) et d'une pièce femelle (4) qui l'entoure, en mouvement planétaire relatif. Ces machines sont caractérisées par la définition de la surface extérieure de la pièce mâle (50) et par les propriétés particulières qu'elle confère au capsulisme, notamment lorsque ce capsulisme est hélicoïdal, ainsi que par la nature des contacts intérieurs (40 et 50) entre pièces mâle (5) et femelle (4). Les machines objet de l'invention peuvent véhiculer tout type de fluide et fonctionner en machines motrices ou génératrices. Elles trouvent leurs applications notamment dans le domaine des moteurs de forage, des pompes et des compresseurs à vis ou cylindriques, où elles offrent l'avantage d'une grande richesse de formes, d'un faible nombre de pièces mobiles, d'une grande cylindrée dans un emcombrement donné et, pour les machines hélicoïdales, de surfaces de contact rigoureusement conjuguées de glissement.
