DESCRIPTIVE ABSTRACT On space vehicles, the rotary mechanisms, such as those comprising one or more ball bearings (14; 14') are equipped with stacking systems (32, 32'), which join the parts (10, 12) which have to rotate with respect to one another during the launch phase. These stacking systems (32, 32') are then released by heating shape memory material members (46, 46'). The use of these members makes it possible to place stac- king systems as close as possible to the bearings, so that the forces produced by the launch pass directly from one part to the other without loading the balls of the bearings. Therefore the dimensions and weight of the latter can be minimized. (Fig. 1)
