- 1 - (57) ABSTRACT: A standard industrial pressure blasting paint- stripping apparatus works with abrasive media and commpresed air, which is combined in the mixing chamber of the media flow valve located directly under the pressure pot and conneted to the push line and the conveying line. This equipment works quite well providing the pres- sure pot and the mixing chamber have an equal pres- sure. The moment a pressure unbalance occurrs, (higher pot pressure), a conveying line will receive more media than is requested or less media if the mixing chamber pressure is higher. Unpredictability of such a system is not acceptable when blasting technology is utilized for paint stripping of a surface such as wood, aluminum, glass, etc., due to potential damage of said surface. In this inven- tion a standard media flow control valve is replaced with the "ROTARY METRING VALVE" for abrasive media. This improvement proves perfect control of media flow regardeless of any pressure diff rential which might appear during the blasting operation, there- fore, assuring full control of the blasting process. Due to this invention the dry-media blasting tech- nology can be applied in an area with paint strip- ping of furniture, masonary or wood constraction type homes, fibreglass or aluminum vechicles, boats, ect. is being done.
