The invention relates to a rotary mineral breaker, a rotor and a method of using a rotary mineral breaker. The rotary mineral breaker includes a rotor having an inlet for mineral pieces at and/or substantially parallel to the rotary axis thereof from above and at least one peripheral exit port for such materials to exit in the same and/or a modified form radially of the rotor into a surrounding mineral piece interaction zone, the rotor being characterised in that in use for each exit port there will be a retained bed of mineral pieces having (a) a greater vertical extend inwardly of the exit port than at the exit port itself and/or (b) starting higher inwardly that at the exit port itself and being further characterised in that at the trailing boundary of each exit port there is at least a sacrificial member which acts or will act directly or indirectly as a weir for the retained bed of mineral pieces and over which other mineral pieces may be flung, said retained mineral pieces extending inwardly to a backup form which limits the inward intrusion of the retained bed.
L'invention concerne un broyeur de minéraux rotatif, un rotor, et un procédé d'utilisation dudit broyeur. Ce broyeur comprend un rotor doté d'une entrée permettant d'introduire des morceaux de minéraux par le haut de manière sensiblement parallèle à l'axe de rotation dudit rotor, et au moins un orifice de sortie périphérique permettant d'évacuer radialement les matériaux du rotor sous la même forme et/ou sous une forme modifiée dans une zone d'interaction de morceaux de minéraux entourant ledit rotor. Le rotor est caractérisé en ce que, lorsqu'on l'utilise, il existe pour chaque orifice de sortie un lit retenu de morceaux de minéraux a) comprenant une extension verticale vers l'intérieur de l'orifice de sortie plus grande que l'orifice de sortie lui-même, et/ou b) commençant plus haut à l'intérieur que l'orifice de sortie lui-même. Le rotor est également caractérisé en ce qu'à la limite arrière de chaque orifice de sortie au moins un élément sacrificiel agit ou agira directement ou indirectement comme l'usure sur le lit retenu de morceaux de minéraux sur lequel d'autres morceaux de minéraux peuvent être projetés, lesdits morceaux de minéraux retenus s'étendant vers l'intérieur en direction d'une forme de retenue qui limite l'intrusion du lit retenu vers l'intérieur.
