Abstract In 3 rotary slide (1) for a hydrostatic steering unit, there are two concentric sleeves (2, 3) having near one end slots (7, 8) which, in the neutral position, produce a short-circuit and sub-divide the corresponding sleeve section into stays (10, 11). Both sleeves (2, 3) comprise at the end a closed ring (14, 16) by which the respective stays (10, 11) are connected. The cross-section of the inner sleeve is weakened on the inside in the region of the slots (7, 8). In this way, jamming of the two sleeves is avoided even in the case of high pressures and many slots. Fig. 3
