A rotary steerable tool (2) for use in a downhole drilling apparatus for adjusting the direction of drilling is disclosed. The tool comprises a tubular outer housing (20) and a row of steering pushers (24) slidably mounted to the housing for movement between an extended position, in which the steering pusher engages a wall of a borehole formed by the drilling apparatus, and a withdrawn position, in which the steering pushers do not engage the wall of the borehole.

L'invention concerne un outil rotatif orientable (2) qui est utilisé dans un appareil de forage fond de trou pour régler le sens de forage. L'outil de l'invention comprend une enveloppe tubulaire extérieure (20) et une rangée de poussoirs de direction (24) montés coulissants sur l'enveloppe afin de se déplacer entre une position étendue, dans laquelle le poussoir de direction se trouve en contact avec la paroi d'un alésage formé par l'appareil de forage, et une position de retrait, dans laquelle les poussoirs de direction ne se trouvent pas en contact avec la paroi de l'alésage.
