There is disclosed a butterfly valve having a disc whose stem portions on its opposite ends are closely received within openings in opposite faces of the disc and a seat in the body of the valve. A seal assembly is mounted between the faces in surrounding relation to the stem portions so as to prevent the entry of line fluid into the openings.

Vanne à papillon munie d'un disque dont les tiges sur ses extrémités opposées sont engagées, de façon ajustée, dans des ouvertures situées dans les faces opposées du disque et dans un siège dans le corps de la vanne. Un assemblage d'étanchéité monté entre les faces entourant les tiges prévient l'infiltration de fluide provenant de la conduite dans les ouvertures.
