A high speed rotatable saw apparatus is provided having a machine frame, an arm member rotationally mounted on the machine frame, a saw rotatably mounted on the arm member a driven pulley rotatably mounted on the arm member and being rotatably connected to the saw, a drive pulley drivingly connected to a motor, the drive pulley being disposed at a location spaced apart from the arm member, and an intermediate pulley disposed intermediate the drive pulley and the driven pulley, the intermediate pulley being configured and disposed such that its axis of rotation is co-axially aligned with the rotational axis of the arm member, the rotatable saw apparatus further comprising a displacement mechanism for high speed, rotationally, reciprocally displacement of the arm member about the rotational axis of the arm member such that the saw is rotationally displaceable between a first position and a second position, a continuous driving means which simultaneously, drivingly connects each of the drive pulley, the intermediate pulley and the driven pulley, wherein, when the saw is displaced between the first position and the second position, the driving means remains at a constant tension.
