ROTATING CONTACT ZIF CONNECTOR ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A two-piece rotating contact zero insertion force connector is used to interconnect printed circuit boards (daughter boards) to backplanes (mother boards), cables to panels or cables to cables. This is accomplished by rotating one-half of the mating contacts relative to the other half to complete the necessary electrical connection. A number of different rotating contact designs are included which could be utilized to implement the overall concept.
