Abstract This device is a rotating plug. Since all sockets seem to be oriented the same way, i.e. the ground plugs on a set of sockets are always on the top or on the bottom of the socket, the rotating plug allows for plugs to be oriented in such a manner that the wires of the plugs in a set of sockets do not interfere with each other. The condition described above is prevalent in nearly all existing sockets. The rotating plug allows for ease of use with the new "L" shaped plugs of both grounded and non-grounded types. Existing "l" shaped plugs will not be affected. The plug is rotated by simply pushing down on the upper section and rotating the lower section clockwise or counterclockwise to the desired configuration. When the pressure is released, the plug is then set so that the cord is in the new and satisfactory position.
